When Detective Cody Sheehan discovers the body of a stripper from the Rock Bottom dance club, she wants the case. But the only way Cody can get the assignment is to go undercover – uncovered – at the club.

Scene Description
Carlye Byron is lassoed with a wire and strangled from above. She’s then hoisted off the ground and her corpse is attached to the underside of a truck right before it drives off.

Scenes like this are why I lost interest in traditional gallows and platform hangings years ago. I grew tired of the prep and ceremony in favor of seeing protagonists taken by surprise as they go about their routines. I also prefer seeing them claw at the ligature.
