Plot Summary

Believing that Nessa was killed by an Israeli-backed terrorist group the American government prepares to accept Palestine as a sovereign state and Julia Walsh accuses Palestinian sympathizer Monica of helping to engineer this, using Nessa as a pawn. Nessa comes to in a house with Kasim and rings Shlomo to announce that she is alive. Acting on the call Hayden-Hoyle persuades Atika, who was aware of, and part of, the plot that she owes it to Nessa to rescue her, which she does, killing the father of Al-Zahid, who ordered her rape and her family’s murders. Though mortally wounded Atika helps Nessa and Kasim escape to Israel and back to England, where they visit Rachel and her new-born baby.

Words cannot express how fucking genius I think this hanging method is. It is so completely far removed from any conceivable idea I’ve ever had for the kind of hanging I would want to see that I am compelled to bask in its creative glory. What’s more, there are no camera cuts.

Hanging fans, if you’re as tired of traditional drop-hangings as I am, and also share my opinion that nooses are terribly cliche, then you do not want to pass on this.

Edits

In the episode, there’s a glaring closeup of a male reporter’s mouth on a TV screen as he offers his final comments about the nightly news right after Eve dies. I replaced the shot of his mouth with a black overlay, so we only hear him.

As a bonus, I added a screenshot of Eve’s corpse hanging from her hotel room door.

My favorite types of scenarios involve smartly dressed career women in peril. I’m also a foot fetishist. Put the two together and you can understand why this scene absolutely rocked my world. The hanging is a method I’ve fantasized about for as long as I can remember. It has everything I’ve ever imagined about this type of scene:

• Surprise attack from above by unseen killer
• Thin ligature so protagonist can’t pull herself up
• Reaction shot right before she’s pulled up off the floor
• Hands clawing at the ligature throughout the attack.
• Plenty of foot shots

It’s as if the filmmakers read my mind and shot exactly the kind hanging I’ve dreamed of all my life.

Edits

After the agent who drove her home leaves her apartment, he summons the elevator. The killer takes advantage of the noise to attack Elsa. While she’s struggling, the camera cuts to the agent trying to passively listen in from the other side of her door after thinking he heard something. I removed all four cuts.

The acting is shit, but lasso hangings are the only kind I like anymore and yet frustratingly rare – and she’s wearing a relatively nice dress and heels – so I decided, “Fuck it,” and added it to my collection.
